The Gaffney community in South Carolina is mourning the tragic loss of Jomiltron Sentell Fair Jr., 17, a Gaffney High School student who was shot and killed Wednesday morning while preparing to board a school bus.
Jomiltron’s death has left his family, classmates, teachers, friends, and the entire community heartbroken as they struggle to process the loss of a young life taken far too soon.
According to the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, Fair was identified as the victim of the fatal shooting, which occurred in the 500 block of West Rutledge Avenue near a school bus stop at approximately 6:49 a.m.
Authorities said Fair had walked from his apartment, located across the street from the bus stop, and was preparing to board the school bus when a male suspect approached him.
