With broken hearts and profound sadness, family members, friends, classmates, and the entire New Philadelphia community are mourning the tragic and untimely passing of Ridge Reichman, who lost his life at just 18 years old following a devastating two-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County on the evening of Sunday, June 28.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:53 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 103 (North Orchard Road) and Township Road 1277 (Northwood Avenue) in Lawrence Township. Investigators reported that Ridge was driving a 2021 Nissan Altima northbound when his vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by an eastbound Ram 1500.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and worked quickly to provide lifesaving care before Ridge was transported to Mercy Hospital. Despite the tireless efforts of medical personnel, he tragically succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and additional details have not yet been released.
