The Lexington community is mourning the tragic loss of Juanita Puckett, 93, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Tuesday night.
According to the Lexington Police Department, officers responded to the collision just after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Street. Investigators said one vehicle struck another vehicle that was making a turn.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified Puckett as a passenger in one of the vehicles involved. She was killed due to blunt force injuries sustained in the crash and was transported to UK Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police said an occupant of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As news of her passing spreads, family, friends, and community members are sharing condolences and remembering Puckett for the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.
The crash remains under investigation by Lexington police. Funeral arrangements and an official obituary are expected to be released at a later time.
