A devastating crash on KY 49 (Bradfordville Road) has claimed the life of Mason May, 21, of Lebanon, leaving a community in mourning after a violent head-on collision Friday evening.
According to Kentucky State Police Post 15, the crash occurred when a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by Jacob Buckingham, 35, of Bradfordville, attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. During the maneuver, the truck collided head-on with a 2011 Honda Civic driven by May.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the Marion County Coroner pronounced May dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Buckingham was transported to Spring View Hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities said the crash remains under active investigation as troopers continue to piece together the events that led to the fatal impact. Multiple local agencies assisted at the scene, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Fire/EMS, the Lebanon Fire Department, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
What began as a routine drive ended in tragedy on a rural stretch of roadway, leaving a family grieving an unimaginable loss and a community shaken by sudden heartbreak.
