The Bristol, Virginia, community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 5-year-old Saylor Hayes, whose life ended tragically during a family stay in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
Saylor disappeared while staying with her family, prompting an extensive search involving hundreds of people and multiple agencies. Authorities continued searching the area in hopes of finding the young girl safely.
Tragically, those hopes ended in profound sorrow when Saylor’s body was found the following day in waters near where she was last seen.
