The victim of Tuesday night’s fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Sunset District has been identified as Samantha Emge, 22, a recent graduate of San Francisco State University and an interior designer, according to the city Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of [exact street], where Emge was allegedly shot by 25-year-old Nation Wood, police said. Wood, who also attended San Francisco State University and worked in security, was booked into jail on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.
Supervisor Alan Wong, representing the Sunset District, released a statement expressing his sorrow: “I’m deeply saddened by this tragic incident in our community. My thoughts are with the victim and her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Any loss of life in our community is devastating, regardless of the circumstances.”
