The Chauvin, Louisiana, community is mourning the tragic loss of Aljean Ledet, 58, who tragically passed away on March 25, 2026, in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 56 and Josie Court in Terrebonne Parish.
According to the Louisiana State Police, Ledet was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado north on LA Highway 56 when a 2006 Pontiac G6, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of his vehicle. Following the impact, Ledet’s vehicle exited the roadway and overturned. He was unrestrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries, being pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Pontiac, also unrestrained, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an out-of-area hospital. Toxicology samples were collected from both drivers, and the crash remains under investigation.
Aljean was known among family, friends, and neighbors for his warm heart, generosity, and commitment to loved ones. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness, his dedication to family, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
He is survived by his cherished family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. The Chauvin community grieves his loss and remembers him as a caring and compassionate individual.
