The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Friday morning on University Parkway.
On March 27, 2026, at approximately 2:54 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of University Parkway in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located Douglas Roberson, a 22-year-old Black male from Coushatta, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid while awaiting additional first responders. Despite their efforts, Roberson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.
Investigators canvassed the area and spoke with several witnesses. Numerous pieces of digital and physical evidence were collected and will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
This investigation remains ongoing. The Natchitoches Police Department will release additional information as it becomes available.
