Pennsylvania State Police have identified the victim in Saturday’s fatal industrial accident in Rush Township, Schuylkill County, as 36-year-old Marco Poveda. The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on March 28, 2026, at 143 Mahanoy Avenue in Hometown when Poveda was involved in a heavy machinery accident.
According to authorities, Poveda was working on-site when he became entrapped in industrial equipment, leading to fatal injuries. Emergency crews, including local fire departments, EMS, the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office, and Pennsylvania State Police, responded to the scene. Despite immediate rescue efforts, Poveda was pronounced deceased at the scene by coroner officials.
