The Emporia community is grieving the tragic loss of Gregory Scott Campbell, 32, who passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, following a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 56 west of Marion.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Campbell’s Chevy Silverado crossed the center line and struck a semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction around 6 a.m. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, 51, sustained minor injuries.
Gregory was known among family, friends, and neighbors as a kindhearted and hardworking individual. His warmth, generosity, and dedication left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
