Curtis Wilson Rochester, NY Found Death: Rochester Police Investigate Murder of Man Found on Lyell Avenue Porch

Rochester Police are investigating the death of a man found on a porch Thursday morning as a homicide.

Officers responded around 7:30 a.m. to a report of a body outside a home on Lyell Avenue near Cameron Street. Upon arrival, police located a man deceased on the porch of the residence.

Authorities have identified the victim as Curtis Wilson, 40, of Rochester. Following an examination by the Medical Examiner’s Office, police confirmed that Wilson’s death is being investigated as a murder. His exact cause of death has not been publicly released.

Investigators believe the incident may have stemmed from an argument prior to the killing. No arrests have been announced at this time.

The residence where Wilson was found contains several vacant apartments, which police say are often used by homeless individuals and drug users. The porch where the body was discovered is attached to one of the vacant units.

Police continue to process the scene and are asking anyone with information or video related to the incident to contact 911. The investigation remains ongoing.
