The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Jessica Wells, 43, who was fatally shot early Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Deputies responded around 12:30 a.m. to a report of a shooting on the 1200 block of Broken Arrow Court, near Knightdale. Officers found Wells suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
An adult male suspect has been taken into custody. Authorities say this is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the community.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details have not been released at this time.
