The Bridgeton community is mourning the tragic loss of Landon King, 18, who was fatally shot Thursday evening in a deadly incident at a QuikTrip parking lot on St. Charles Rock Road.
According to the Bridgeton Police Department, officers responded at approximately 7:21 p.m. on April 9, 2026, to reports of a shooting in the 12700 block of St. Charles Rock Road at the QuikTrip located in the area. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite emergency response efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities have identified the victim as Landon King. His sudden and violent passing has left family, friends, and community members devastated as they try to process the heartbreaking loss.
Investigators say a person of interest has been taken into custody, and early findings suggest the individuals involved were known to each other. Officials have also stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.
