Deputy Landon Faulkner Car Accident: Deputy Landon Faulkner dies after crash with disabled vehicle on Highway 111

A tragic crash on Highway 111 has claimed the life of Deputy Landon Faulkner, 24, of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, leaving colleagues, family, and the wider law enforcement community in mourning.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Faulkner was driving a 2020 Ford Explorer southbound on Highway 111 Wednesday evening when he collided with a disabled vehicle stopped in the travel lane near Sequatchie County. The impact caused life-threatening injuries, and he was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities confirmed the other driver, a 61-year-old man, was not injured in the crash. A preliminary report indicates Faulkner was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. No charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The sudden loss has sent shockwaves through the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Officials described Faulkner’s death as a devastating tragedy for the department and the community he served.

Faulkner began his career in law enforcement after serving in Grundy County and later joined HCSO in 2022, following his graduation from the Knoxville Police Department Explorer Cadet Program.

What began as a routine response turned into a heartbreaking loss on a dark stretch of highway, leaving behind grief, unanswered questions, and a department grappling with the death of one of its own.
