With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we share the passing of our friend and brother, Tommy Shine, who left us around 4 p.m. today.
Tommy was more than a colleague—he was a true brother to those who served alongside him. As a firefighter, he embodied courage, dedication, and selflessness. He answered the call without hesitation, putting the safety and well-being of others before his own. His strength, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the job made him a powerful example of what it truly means to serve.
From the Wentzville Shop to every corner of the Local, Tommy’s impact was deeply felt. He built bonds that went beyond the firehouse—connections rooted in trust, respect, and shared sacrifice. Those who had the privilege of working beside him knew not only his bravery, but also his character, his loyalty, and the kind of presence that made others feel supported and understood.
His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his brothers and sisters, his friends, and especially his family. Words cannot fully express the grief that comes with losing someone who gave so much of himself to others.
We ask that you keep Tommy’s family, friends, and our Wentzville brothers and sisters in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. May they find strength in one another, comfort in shared memories, and peace in knowing that Tommy’s life and service will never be forgotten.
