A woman was killed in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide involving her former boyfriend late Wednesday night in rural Morgan County, Indiana, authorities confirmed.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 11:15 p.m. to a residence in the 1700 block of South Denny Hill Road after receiving reports of gunfire and concerns about the welfare of individuals at the property. The home is located west of Paragon near State Road 67.
When officers arrived, they discovered 48-year-old Suzanne Biddle and 54-year-old Jeffery Parks deceased inside the residence. Both had suffered gunshot wounds. Authorities said Parks, who was Biddle’s former boyfriend, is believed to have fatally shot her before taking his own life.
The Morgan County Major Crimes Task Force has launched an investigation into the incident, which is currently being treated as a murder-suicide. Officials have not released additional details regarding the events leading up to the shooting.
The tragedy has left family members and friends mourning the loss of Biddle, who was remembered as a kind-hearted woman with a deep love for both people and animals.
In a heartfelt statement shared following her mother’s death, Biddle’s daughter, Taylor, expressed her grief and paid tribute to the woman she described as a source of light and compassion.
“It is with a broken heart that I share that my mom, Suzanne Biddle, was taken from us on June 17, 2026,” Taylor said.
She went on to describe her mother as someone whose smile could brighten any room and whose generosity made everyone around her feel appreciated and loved. Taylor added that her mother’s compassion extended beyond people, noting her lifelong affection for animals and her willingness to help those in need.
