DPS Identifies Victim in Fatal Morning Crash: The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified Javier Morales-Perez, 32, of Navasota, as the victim who lost his life in a tragic three-vehicle collision early Friday morning on Texas Highway 105 East near the Relay Station in Plantersville. His unexpected passing has left family, friends, and the Navasota community mourning the loss of a life taken far too soon.
According to investigators, the crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. when Javier was driving a 2014 Honda CR-V eastbound on Highway 105. Authorities said he slowed to make a left turn into a construction site when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2019 Subaru Outback.
The force of the collision pushed Javier’s Honda into the westbound lane, where it was struck head-on by an oncoming Ford F-350. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but despite their efforts, Javier Morales-Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the Subaru Outback and the Ford F-350 sustained minor injuries and were treated and released at the scene. The Texas Department of Public Safety conducted an extensive investigation, and the roadway remained closed for several hours before reopening around 11:00 a.m.
