Family, friends, and members of the Corpus Christi, Texas, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Clarissa Nunez and Diamantina Martinez, who died following a devastating two-vehicle crash in Burleson County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. Authorities said Clarissa Nunez was driving a 2014 Kia Optima and was attempting to make a left turn from Farm-to-Market Road 60 (FM 60) when the vehicle was struck by a northbound 2020 Ford F-250 traveling on State Highway 36 (SH 36).
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and worked to assist those involved in the collision. Despite their efforts, Clarissa Nunez and Diamantina Martinez sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased.
Two children—an 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy—who were passengers in the Kia suffered serious injuries in the crash and were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
