The Wellsville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ashley R. Robichaud, 38, and her beloved 6-year-old daughter, Emersyn E. Robichaud, following a tragic ATV accident that claimed their lives on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Their sudden passing has left family members, friends, and neighbors devastated as they struggle to process the loss of a loving mother and her young daughter whose lives were taken far too soon.
According to authorities, the tragic incident occurred in the Town of Wellsville when an all-terrain vehicle overturned in a pasture along Niles Hill Road. Ashley was operating the ATV with her two children when the vehicle rolled over, leaving her and Emersyn trapped underneath.
Emergency responders were called to the scene following reports of the rollover. When they arrived, they discovered Ashley and Emersyn suffering from fatal injuries. Despite the efforts of those who responded, both mother and daughter tragically could not be saved.
Ashley’s youngest child, a 3-year-old passenger, survived the crash and was transported by Mercy Flight to Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester with injuries reported to be non-life-threatening. The child’s recovery has become a source of hope and concern for many who have been affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
