The family and friends of Trey Shawn Cowman are mourning the loss of a beloved son, brother, husband, friend, and cherished member of the community. Trey, 30, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, leaving behind memories filled with laughter, friendship, family moments, and a passion for life that touched everyone who knew him.
Born on September 27, 1995, in Kingston, Trey was the son of Diane Duesler Cowman and the late Shawn Cowman. He grew up surrounded by family, friendships, and experiences that helped shape the person he became.
Trey was a 2012 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, where he excelled academically in business and proudly represented his school as a football player. One of his proudest accomplishments came during his senior year when he was part of the first Spartan football team to win the Eastern Conference Championship, a memory he carried with great pride.
After high school, Trey continued his education at Shippensburg University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He later completed a Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics at the University of Scranton, further building the skills that would support his professional career.
Trey worked as a data analyst, most recently with Golden Hippo in Los Angeles, California. Throughout his career and personal life, he was known for his dedication, intelligence, and ability to connect with the people around him.
Beyond his accomplishments, Trey will be remembered most for the person he was to his family and friends. His laughter, loyalty, kindness, and enthusiasm for life created lasting memories that will continue to bring comfort to those grieving his loss.
