Born and raised in Hillsville, Dillon was the son of Tony Dwayne and Angela Alderman Young. He was engaged to Ashley Rosen of Hillsville and remained deeply connected to his family, including his brothers Matthew Dwayne Young and Mark Aaron Young, as well as his grandparents, nephews, and brother-in-law Craig Randall Rosen.
