A woman was killed in a late-night rollover crash along Interstate 45 in The Woodlands on Wednesday, according to emergency officials.
South Montgomery County Fire crews were dispatched around 10:45 p.m. to a major accident on I-45 southbound, just north of Rayford Road. Upon arrival, responders found a vehicle overturned on its roof and a female driver in traumatic cardiac arrest.
Medics immediately began CPR, but despite life-saving efforts, the victim — identified as Ashley Sotelo — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle struck a guardrail before flipping over. During the crash, Sotelo was ejected from the vehicle.
Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center, where an autopsy will be conducted.
