The accident occurred just after 6:30 a.m., when a white 2024 Ford Maverick traveling east on SR-161 lost control while navigating the curve from the interstate and collided with a barrier. John was transported to the hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 6:49 a.m..

Authorities, including the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Division of Police, and Blendon Township Police, responded to the scene.
