Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Monday afternoon in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
According to Attala County Coroner Sam Bell, 16-year-old Nina Dillon was involved in a physical altercation with 15-year-old Ta’khia Fletcher on Lucas Street around 4:15 p.m. During the confrontation, Dillon was stabbed and later pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala.
Fletcher was apprehended at the scene and has been charged with murder. She is currently being held without bond at the Leake County Correctional Facility. Authorities have not released a motive, and the investigation is ongoing.
Kosciusko Police Chief Greg Collins confirmed that police are continuing to gather information and urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
